Collaborative Physician - California
About The Position
Advantmed is seeking a part-time Collaborative/Supervising Physician in California to support Nurse Practitioners performing in-home health assessments. The physician provides a point of consultation and professional dialogue for NPs regarding patient care activities, in accordance with applicable law and the NP Collaborative Practice Protocol Agreement. The role is remote, offers a flexible schedule, and requires an average of approximately 4–6 hours per month. The physician must be available by phone or other electronic communication during Monday–Friday operating hours for escalations. The physician periodically reviews NP patient charts. Reviews are conducted online using a randomly selected sample of at least 5%, with state-specific review requirements applying. Compensation is a $200 flat rate per pay period for review of 5% of up to 134 completed health assessments conducted by NPs covered by a written agreement. For each pay period, an additional $1.50 is paid for the review of 5% of completed assessments above 134. The position is part-time, contract, and temporary. Work is remote. The physician must be comfortable having Advantmed’s security app on their mobile device when using company programs or using a phone or computer for work; this is non-negotiable.
Requirements
- Successfully complete the Advantmed credentialing process.
- Hold current board certification.
- Have valid, unsanctioned California state medical, federal DEA, and Controlled and Dangerous Substances (CDS) licenses.
- Be comfortable installing or using Advantmed’s security app on a mobile device when using company programs or using a phone or computer for work.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Collaborative Physician in accordance with applicable law and the NP Collaborative Practice Protocol Agreement, including fulfilling state-specific collaborator requirements.
- Conduct periodic quality reviews of NP patient charts, using an online process and a randomly selected sample of at least 5%, as required by the applicable state.
- Be available by phone or other electronic communication during Monday–Friday operating hours to consult with NPs about patient-care escalations.
