About The Position

Panorama Eyecare is seeking a full-time Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Coding Specialist. The role supports accurate health data and insurance reimbursement by coding records, verifying surgery orders and operative notes, transferring electronic data between systems, and coordinating with Billing and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). The position is based at the Eye Center of Northern Colorado in Fort Collins, Colorado, with travel to Denver Eye Surgeons in Lakewood, Colorado, and Cheyenne Eye Clinic and Vision in Cheyenne, Wyoming, as needed. Compensation is $23–$27 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and basic mathematics.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Strong computer proficiency and accurate data-entry skills.
Positive attitude and collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or comparable coding credential.

Responsibilities

Code for three busy operating rooms.
Ensure information in EMA matches surgery orders in mmASC, verifying that entered codes match the order.
Compare codes with operative notes to confirm the correct billing code.
Electronically transfer physician standing orders from EMA to mmASC.
Work with Billing and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) to ensure codes are accurate and complete.
Complete tasks daily in the ASC Billing Task folder.
Submit billing sheets to RCM daily.
Read physician notes and assign appropriate ICD-10 or CPT codes.
Verify co-management physicians and ensure appropriate information is present in the EHR.
Maintain compliance with privacy requirements such as HIPAA and update files based on new rules.
Correct billing errors in a timely manner.
