About The Position
Responsible performs welding procedures to meet ASME Sec VIII quality standards under minimal supervision. These standards include but are not limited to X-ray and U.T. non-destructive examinations. Must be familiar with GMAW, FCAW, and SAW welding processes. This position will build ASME pressure vessels as required by supplied drawings and calculations.
Requirements
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Successful completion of an internal welding test
- Previous code welding experience
- Code welding certification
Nice To Haves
- Three years minimum of prior code welding experience
Responsibilities
- Proficient in assigned code welding techniques
- Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbolism
- Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials
- Working knowledge of fixtures and weld set-up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
- Conventional and precision measuring instruments
- Process inspection, certification, and documentation
- Welding equipment maintenance
- Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
- Safety and housekeeping knowledge, promoting a philosophy of zero accidents
- Support Manufacturing Engineering on improvement projects
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work hours necessary to meet plant requirement
- Perform other duties as assigned by the area supervisor
