About The Position

Rite of Passage is hiring a part-time Coach Counselor (Direct Juvenile Support Worker) at Cypress Creek Juvenile Correction Center in Lecanto, Florida. Cypress Creek is a maximum-security residential program for at-risk male youth. The program promotes a normalized high school experience, provides a safe environment, and supports opportunities for positive change, achievement, and growth. The Coach Counselor provides in-person safety and security around the clock and meets each youth’s physical, personal, and health needs through individual mentoring and skill development. The role supports youth needs, monitors and documents behaviors and activities, assists with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities, and collaborates with professional staff to establish and meet treatment-plan goals. No previous experience is required; training is provided. Pay is $19.00. A $1,000 training incentive is available upon successful completion of the Essential Skills Training Program after 90 days of employment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 21 years of age.
Pass a criminal background check, drug test, and TB test.
Meet requirements to become an ROP-eligible driver, including holding a valid driver’s license.
Be consistent, fair, punctual, motivated, and structure-oriented.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in similar facilities, military training, or relevant education may qualify candidates to start above entry level.
