About The Position

Duval Academy is a 28-bed, all-boys program dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment where students can thrive and achieve their potential. The Coach Counselor, also referred to as a Youth Care Worker, provides in-person safety and security around the clock and supports the physical, personal, and health needs of each youth through individual mentoring and skill development. The role promotes a supportive atmosphere, monitors and documents youth behaviors and activities, participates in and assists with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities, and collaborates with professional staff to establish and meet each youth’s treatment-plan goals.

The position is on call and pays $19.00 per hour. The organization offers staff training and describes opportunities for growth and meaningful work supporting youth.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Pass a criminal background check, drug test, and TB test.
• Pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person safety and security around the clock.
• Support each youth’s physical, personal, and health needs through individual mentoring and skill development.
• Provide an atmosphere that is supportive of youths’ needs.
