About The Position

This course, PPG2003H-S – Capstone Integrating Seminar: Issues In Public Policy, is designed to enable students to apply the skills, analytical approaches, and policy knowledge gained throughout the MPP program to develop a cohesive policy agenda relevant to the current Canadian context. It is structured similarly to the Institute for Research and Public Policy’s Canadian Priorities Agenda (CPA) project, updated to reflect contemporary policy shifts since the original CPA in 2007. The CPA model involved "agenda-setters" identifying priority areas, researchers proposing specific policies, and a panel of "judges" recommending new policy agendas. In this course, students will assume all three roles—agenda setters, proponents, and judges—to formulate and defend an agenda comprising three policies for their final assignment.
