About The Position

CNP custodians provide a clean, safe, high-quality cafeteria and adjoining spaces to support an enhanced learning environment and IDEA’s commitment to excellence. The role includes daily cleaning, basic maintenance, safe handling and use of cleaning supplies and equipment, completion of work orders, inventory and supply management, and coordination with the Facilities Manager on cafeteria needs and capital expenditure planning. Custodians are expected to work safely, reliably, and flexibly, and may need to work longer hours as needed to meet the mission.

Requirements

Ability to understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.

Responsibilities

Provide a clean and healthy environment that supports an enhanced learning environment.
Achieve a proficient rating on the Facilities Rubric and Facilities Audit.
Complete assigned work orders, with a goal of completing 90% of cafeteria projects within 24 hours.
Complete daily cleaning responsibilities with attention to detail.
Work with the Facilities Manager to identify cafeteria needs for capital expenditure planning.
Operate safely, complete SafeSchools training by the deadline, use personal protective equipment at all times, and immediately report unsafe situations on campus.
Keep all chemicals on hand locked.
Manage custodial supplies and equipment efficiently, minimize material consumption, maintain an accurate inventory log, and order supplies through the Facilities Manager within campus guidelines.
Properly use and maintain heavy equipment.
Demonstrate reliability through attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and following the work schedule; work longer hours as needed to meet mission goals.
Prioritize work and use good judgment.
