About The Position
Acero Precision is seeking a skilled CNC Setup & Production Machinist with experience operating and setting up Mazak and multi-axis CNC machining equipment. The role involves producing highly precise medical device components in a quality-focused, ISO-regulated manufacturing environment. Experience with specific Mazak models, 5-axis machining, mill-turn, or multi-axis CNC equipment is highly valued.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience
- Experience independently setting up and operating CNC machining equipment
- Experience with multi-axis CNC machining
- Strong blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation skills
- Experience with precision measuring equipment, including, calipers, micrometers, and indicators
- Understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, work offsets, and machining fundamentals
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and tooling issues
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Responsibilities
- Setup and operate Mazak and multi-axis CNC machining equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and process documentation
- Select and install appropriate tooling
- Set work offsets and make tool/offset adjustments
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
- Verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment
- Maintain tight tolerances and superior surface finishes
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed
- Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues
- Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, quality, and production efficiency
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping activities
