About The Position

Acero Precision is seeking a skilled CNC Setup & Production Machinist with experience operating and setting up Swiss-type CNC lathes. The role involves producing highly precise medical device components in a quality-focused, ISO-regulated manufacturing environment. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience
  • Experience independently setting up and operating CNC Swiss-type lathes
  • Strong understanding of Swiss machining and precision turning
  • Strong blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation skills
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and indicators
  • Understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, work offsets, and machining fundamentals
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining and tooling issues
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate Swiss-type CNC lathes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and process documentation
  • Select and install appropriate tooling
  • Set work offsets and make tool/offset adjustments
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
  • Verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment
  • Maintain tight tolerances and superior surface finishes
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and dimensional issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, quality, and production efficiency
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping activities
