About The Position

Barron Industries, a leader in aerospace and defense manufacturing since 1983, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team in Oxford, MI. We manufacture mission-critical metal components for highly regulated applications, with a strong commitment to quality systems, safety, and continuous improvement. Our new Aerospace and Defense Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center (ADAMTeC) is opening soon creating new 50 jobs.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist
• Knowledge of 5 Axis machines
• 3-5 years of CNC machining experience in manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace preferred.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Experience using Tebis and background with FANUC machine controllers

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with ITAR, ISO 9001, and AS9100 requirements.
• Experience machining complex, high-value, tight-tolerance aerospace or defense components.

Responsibilities

• Fixture design and creation to hold irregular shaped casted parts
• Strong background in GD&T, knowledge of how to work to datums
• Advanced programming using TEBIS to make live 5-axis toolpaths
• Probing parts to align and locate them using a RENISHAW probe
• Ability to shift hours in order to maintain lights out machine utilization
• Sense of urgency to get parts running and move through the shop
