The operator will input product designs into computer modeling software, decipher CMM printouts, and make necessary adjustments to keep parts within specifications. Responsibilities also include building basic fixtures, selecting and loading cutting tools, adjusting machine settings, and setting up the work area for efficient material flow. The position requires conferring with engineers and other personnel to resolve machining problems and optimize programs and tooling, as well as completing documentation for first piece approval. A comprehensive understanding of machine tool and control functions is essential for troubleshooting manufacturing issues and training other employees on CNC equipment operation and basic set-ups. The role also includes completing and updating setup instructions, work instructions, and tooling sheets.
