About The Position

Calibration Technologies is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist (Set-Up & Operator) responsible for machining processes within their manufacturing operations. This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining 3-axis CNC milling machines and mill-turn lathes to produce high-precision components. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician who can interpret technical drawings, maintain tight tolerances, and uphold high standards for quality and safety. This role may be structured as either part-time or full-time.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Strong math skills (geometry, compound equations)
Ability to operate CNC and manual machining equipment
Experience with precision measurement tools
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
High attention to detail (tolerances up to .0005”)

Nice To Haves

Technical training in CNC machining
Experience with mill-turn lathes
Familiarity with G-code
Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360 or Esprit
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Team-oriented with a “can-do” mindset
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Highly organized with strong time management skills
Commitment to quality and safety standards
Willingness to learn (on-the-job training provided)

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain 3-axis CNC milling machines
Set up and maintain mill-turn lathes for complex, high-precision parts
Load and navigate CNC programs
Make minor G-code edits and tool offset adjustments to maintain tolerances and optimize machining efficiency
Perform in-process and final inspections
Use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges) to ensure accuracy
Conduct routine preventative maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, etc.)
Identify and report machine issues proactively
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine setup and machining requirements
Maintain a clean and organized workspace in alignment with 5S standards
Follow all company safety protocols
