About The Position

Design West Technologies Inc. of Tustin, CA has an immediate need for a full-time CNC Setup Machinist. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC machining centers, primarily 5-Axis Mori Seiki and Mori Seiki Horizontal machines. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 3+ year experience in CNC setup experience with Mori Seiki machines (5-axis preferred) & Horizontal machining experience required.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings required
Working knowledge of GD&T Methodology and experience tight tolerance parts and experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.).
Familiarity with Fanuc or Mori control systems.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

CNC lath setup experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Set up and operate 5-axis Mori Seiki machining centers.
Set up and operate Mori Seiki horizontal machining centers.
Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and process sheets as well as install fixtures, tooling and probes.
Conduct first article inspections and in-process inspections.
Perform tool touch-offs and offsets.
Troubleshoot machining issues and make program adjustments as needed.
Work closely with programmers and production team to improve cycle time.
Follow all safety and quality procedures.
