About The Position

Design West Technologies Inc. of Tustin, CA has an immediate need for a full-time CNC Setup Machinist. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC machining centers, primarily 5-Axis Mori Seiki and Mori Seiki Horizontal machines. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ year experience in CNC setup experience with Mori Seiki machines (5-axis preferred) & Horizontal machining experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings required
  • Working knowledge of GD&T Methodology and experience tight tolerance parts and experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Fanuc or Mori control systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • CNC lath setup experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 5-axis Mori Seiki machining centers.
  • Set up and operate Mori Seiki horizontal machining centers.
  • Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and process sheets as well as install fixtures, tooling and probes.
  • Conduct first article inspections and in-process inspections.
  • Perform tool touch-offs and offsets.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make program adjustments as needed.
  • Work closely with programmers and production team to improve cycle time.
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures.
