About The Position

The CNC Screw Machinist operates automatic lathes to produce customer parts that meet specified requirements. The role requires reading blueprints and using basic mathematics to create parts. The machinist plans and programs work, sets up and operates machining equipment, verifies parts against specifications, and maintains production records and a safe work environment.

Requirements

• High school education.
• At least five years of experience programming, editing, setting up, and running multi-axis Swiss turning machines, including Citizen and M32 machines and Nexturn equipment.
• Experience with off-line C.A.M. using PartMaker.
• Experience with Mazak mill-turn and turning centers with live tooling.
• Ability to read blueprints and use basic mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Plan work assignments by studying drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and manuals.
• Program parts from blueprints and work instructions to machine them efficiently.
• Set up equipment by changing tool holders and work-holding devices, selecting appropriate tools, adjusting settings to meet specifications, and testing tolerances.
• Verify parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Document production rates and tooling changes by completing records and entering data into a computerized data collection system.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
• Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
• Complete related tasks as needed to accomplish operational and organizational objectives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
