About The Position

The CNC Machinist efficiently sets up, operates, and troubleshoots CNC machining centers, following proper machining techniques and meeting established quality and productivity standards in a safe and effective manner. The role operates NC, CNC, PLC, and manual machines, including horizontal and vertical lathes, to machine castings and forgings through turning, boring, and facing. Work may involve parts with high levels of complexity. The machinist reads engineering and quality specifications, interprets process drawings, and makes adjustments to machine controls, offsets, feed rates, and cutting speeds as needed. The role includes inspecting work with precision measuring instruments, helping inspect other operators’ work when required, minimizing scrap and rework, and taking part in assigned continuous-improvement activities. The machinist is also responsible for maintaining a clean, safe work area and following company procedures and safety requirements.
