About The Position

Quanex is looking for a CNC Programmer/Operator to join our team in Rice Lake, WI. This role involves setting up, operating, and programming CNC machines, creating and optimizing programs using Mastercam, and ensuring efficient production through proper tooling, speeds, and feeds. The position requires reading blueprints and 3D models, performing full machine setups, and inspecting parts using precision measuring tools. Maintaining equipment and collaborating with the team are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

• CNC machining and programming experience required (Mastercam preferred)
• Ability to read complex blueprints and perform full setups independently
• Strong understanding of G-code, toolpaths, and machining fundamentals
• Proficient with precision measurement tools and inspection processes
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and program CNC machines
• Create and optimize programs using Mastercam (CAM software)
• Read blueprints, 3D models, and GD&T to plan machining strategies
• Choose tooling, speeds/feeds, and workholding for efficient production
• Perform full machine setups (fixturing, probing, tool setting)
• Inspect parts and materials using precision measuring tools
• Maintain equipment and workspace; assist with toolroom machines and team collaboration
