About The Position

Orthman Conveying Systems (OCS) is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes while producing components to engineering specifications. This is a hands-on manufacturing role where precision, quality, and teamwork matter.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of CNC machining experience operating both mills and lathes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Knowledge of G-code, tooling, speeds, and feeds
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and contribute as part of a team

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or technical training is preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC mills and lathes
• Read engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders
• Select tooling and adjust machine controls and offsets
• Maintain required dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments
• Complete production documentation and report deviations or nonconforming parts
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean
• Communicate production status and equipment issues to supervisors, engineers, and team members
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment
