About The Position

Woodward is seeking a CNC Programmer II/III for their Loves Park Campus. This role is responsible for ensuring the team operates safely and efficiently, meets production goals, and maintains quality expectations. The position is on 1st shift (Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30am). This role requires the use of information subject to ITAR and EAR regulations, necessitating applicants to be U.S. Persons or eligible for required authorizations. Requirements

  • CNC Programming: Skilled in developing and refining Gcode and Mcode for complex multiaxis machining operations.
  • CAD/CAM Software: Expert in utilizing CAD/CAM platforms (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX) to generate efficient toolpaths from 3D models.
  • Machine Setup: Experienced in planning and executing precise machine setups, including tool selection, fixturing, and calibration.
  • Toolpath Optimization: Adept at analyzing and optimizing machining sequences to minimize cycle time and material waste.
  • Material Science: Indepth understanding of material properties and their effects on cutting parameters and tool wear.
  • Process Troubleshooting: Proficient in diagnosing and resolving machining issues through data driven parameter adjustments.
  • Quality Assurance: Skilled in applying GD&T principles and conducting inspections with CM Ms and precision measuring tools.
  • Data Analysis: Capable of interpreting machining and production data to identify trends and drive continuous improvements.
  • Technical Leadership: Experienced in mentoring junior programmers, providing subjectmatter guidance, and coordinating team efforts.
  • Documentation Standards: Proficient in creating and maintaining detailed machining documentation, including setup sheets and change logs.
  • Must be a U.S. Person within the meaning of ITAR and EAR, or eligible to obtain all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CNC Programs: Writes and optimizes multiaxis CNC code using CAD/CAM software to produce complex, precision-machined components.
  • Conduct Program Validations: Performs dryruns and simulations to verify tool paths, confirm machining parameters, and ensure errorfree execution.
  • Troubleshoot Machining Issues: Analyzes production data and part defects to identify root causes and implement corrective toolpath or fixture adjustments.
  • Mentor Junior Programmers: Provides subjectmatter guidance to lessexperienced team members on programming techniques, best practices, and process improvements.
  • Drive Process Improvements: Proposes and implements enhancements to programming workflows and tooling strategies to boost efficiency and reduce cycle times.
