About The Position

Harmon, Inc. is seeking a CNC Programmer II to join their team. This is a full-time position where you will play a key role in ensuring that our CNC machines operate efficiently and accurately by setting up, programming, and maintaining CNC machines to fabricate parts. You will collaborate with the engineering team to optimize cost and programming, review and interpret fabrication and shop drawings, run test setups on CNC machines and adjust for correct dimensions, and select speeds, feeds, and tooling for various operations. Additionally, you will assist with training and provide hands-on instruction for new and current employees, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or two-year technical/community college certificate OR three years of relevant experience in machine and tool building.
  • Minimum of three years of experience with shop drawing and fabrication drawing.
  • Experience managing and editing CNC programming, preferably with Mecal CNC machines.
  • Strong ability to interpret and review shop and fabrication drawings.
  • Proficiency in optimizing CAD models for CNC programming.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with engineering and production teams.
  • Strong leadership skills, including training and mentoring team members.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the curtain wall industry is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and editing programs for CNC machines.
  • Applying knowledge of machine setup and CNC programming.
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to optimize cost and programming.
  • Reviewing and interpreting fabrication and shop drawings.
  • Running test setups on CNC machines and adjusting for correct dimensions.
  • Selecting speeds, feeds, and tooling for various operations.
  • Assisting with training and providing hands-on instruction for new and current employees.
