About The Position

Flexjet, an award-winning organization, is looking to add a talented CNC Operator to our team! Responsible to safely and efficiently produce machined parts by means of programming, using Mastercam, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. An Operator’s core objective is to ensure CNC machines are properly utilized though optimizing programs and daily production runs using the approved design and engineering.

Requirements

  • Must have completed training and programming on CNC machine.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Computer Aided Design with an emphasis in Model Based Definition Drawings.
  • Advanced mathematics, problem-solving, and computer skills and the ability to know how and when to use them.
  • Willing to complete on the job training (OJT) in accordance with FCC Repair Station Manual.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Education and experience through vocational school, technical college or apprenticeships (5 to 7+ years) is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of an MRP (Material Resources Planning) system strongly preferred, Corridor software a plus.
  • Key competencies related to working with a diverse group of individuals and departments are desirable.
  • Frequent need to give concentrated attention, with one or two senses at a time, where stimuli are changing.
  • Occasional direct and indirect pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.

Responsibilities

  • Plan machines by carefully studying work orders, drawings and other technical data.
  • Feed mechanism to be loaded by lifting stock into position.
  • Verify the settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to standards.
  • Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and regulations by maintaining safe operations.
  • Complete preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs to maintain the equipment properly to avoid unwanted and alarming situations.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Proactively participate in educational opportunities; read technical publications to update job knowledge on an ongoing basis to stay updated.
  • Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment to accomplish organizational goals.
