About The Position

An experienced ANCA Operator is a skilled machinist responsible for setting up, programming, and operating ANCA CNC grinding machines to manufacture high-precision cutting tools. This role ensures strict adherence to engineering specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements while optimizing production efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Set up ANCA CNC grinding machines based on work orders and specifications
  • Select appropriate grinding wheels, tooling, and machine parameters
  • Load and secure cutting tool blanks accurately
  • Perform machine changeovers and setup adjustments as required
  • Develop and modify grinding programs using ANCA software
  • Create tool profiles, grinding paths, and finishing operations
  • Optimize programs for efficiency and precision
  • Monitor machine performance during operations
  • Adjust offsets, feeds, and speeds to maintain tolerances
  • Ensure continuous production flow and efficiency
  • Inspect finished tools for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and conformance to specifications
  • Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, gauges, comparators, etc.)
  • Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks
  • Identify defects and implement corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot machine and process issues
  • Perform minor machine maintenance and adjustments
  • Diagnose production challenges and recommend solutions
  • Apply advanced grinding techniques for complex tool geometries
  • Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings accurately
  • Stay current with ANCA software updates and process improvements
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry standards
