About The Position

The Dixon Group is looking for a motivated CNC Operator Trainee to join their team at the BOSS Division in Chestertown, MD. This role offers an opportunity for individuals with mechanical aptitude to learn technical skills, operate advanced machinery, and grow within the company. The trainee will be instructed on setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes to produce precision metal components, inspecting products against drawings, identifying machining issues, and making adjustments in a safe and supportive environment. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to learn.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (training provided if needed).
• Comfort using hand tools and applying basic shop math.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for the duration of your shift.
• A positive attitude and commitment to working safely.

Nice To Haves

• Technical training or related coursework preferred.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in hands-on training to learn CNC machine setup and operation.
• Produce metal components according to engineering specifications.
• Learn to identify and correct basic machining issues.
• Gain familiarity with Dixon’s product lines and quality standards.
• Collaborate with your team to ensure smooth and safe production processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
