CNC Operator Trainee
About The Position
The Dixon Group is seeking a motivated CNC Operator Trainee to join their BOSS Division in Chestertown, MD. This role is ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude who are eager to learn valuable technical skills, operate advanced machinery, and grow within a supportive company. The trainee will receive hands-on instruction to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes for precision metal component production. Responsibilities include inspecting products against technical drawings, identifying and resolving machining issues, and making necessary adjustments in a safety-focused environment. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to learn.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
- Comfort using hand tools and applying basic shop math.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for the duration of your shift.
- A positive attitude and commitment to working safely.
Nice To Haves
- Technical training or related coursework preferred.
- Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (training provided if needed).
Responsibilities
- Participate in hands-on training to learn CNC machine setup and operation.
- Produce metal components according to engineering specifications.
- Learn to identify and correct basic machining issues.
- Gain familiarity with Dixon’s product lines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with your team to ensure smooth and safe production processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
