Operates CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) lathes or mills to machine metallic and nonmetallic work pieces to produce precision machined parts to acceptable levels of efficiency and quality on both new and existing production processes. This is the highest level, most complicated job, operating machining centers on repetitive production work involving skill and dexterity. Attention is required to prevent damage to product or machine center. Makes necessary machine adjustments to ensure satisfactory production and inspects work for obvious defects and dimensional integrity. Mentors and leads lower level employees.
