About The Position

This position is for a CNC Milling/Turning Machinist on the 1st Shift, which runs from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The role involves operating CNC multi-axis Milling/Turning machines, setting up and changing over jobs, and working with hard metals. The company is open to candidates with a good attitude and a willingness to learn new trades or skills.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in an aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience operating CNC multi-axis Milling/Turning machine preferred.
  • Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment.
  • Exceptional mechanical ability and strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve complex issues.
  • Proficient in mathematics and able to use a calculator
  • Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing knowledge
  • Ability to work within tight tolerances such as thousandths

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with operation of Right-Angle Heads

Responsibilities

  • Run 3, 4 and 5 axis milling and/or turning machines
  • Run multiple machines simultaneously where possible/feasible
  • Work with hard metals such as Inconel, Titanium and Stainless Steel
  • Read English and interpret symbols on operation sheets
  • Use Fanuc controls and make offsets as required by the program
  • Load part onto a fixture
  • Load parts and fixtures onto hoists and operate hoist to load part onto machine
  • Read and interpret CNC Programs at the machine
  • Read tool sheets and set up tools for use on a job or part
  • Use precision measuring tools such as gauges, swing gauges, calipers, and micrometers
  • Operate Right-Angle Heads
