About The Position

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist specializing in Wire EDM to set up, operate, and program CNC machines and wire electrical discharge machines to produce high-precision components. The role requires minimal training beyond learning the products the company manufactures, strong blueprint-reading skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to strict quality standards. This is a permanent, on-site position in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience operating and programming CNC and Wire EDM machinery.
• Experience setting up, tooling, and operating CNC mills, lathes, and Wire EDM machines.
• Experience programming and editing G-code.
• Proficiency with EDM software such as Esprit or Mastercam and machine controls such as Fanuc or Mitsubishi.
• Ability to work with Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls.
• Ability to interpret complex geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) prints.
• Strong foundational knowledge of shop math, trigonometry, and precision measurement.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Makino brand CNC machines.
• Experience working with ceramic materials.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and Wire EDM machines.
• Program or edit G-code and conversational programs at the machine control.
• Select, mount, and align cutting tools, attachments, and workpieces.
• Inspect finished parts with micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure compliance with blueprints.
• Perform routine daily maintenance and troubleshoot EDM and CNC equipment.
• Complete production logs, quality routing sheets, and material tracking forms.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow OSHA safety protocols.
