About The Position

ContiTech is seeking a CNC Machinist for its 3rd shift operations. This role involves operating CNC machining equipment, ensuring parts are accurately labeled and moved, maintaining machine coolant and oil levels, and keeping a clean workstation. The position also includes programming and machining new fixtures, prototype parts, and new jobs, as well as training new employees. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment, is mandatory. This is a full-time, 3rd shift position (11:00 pm - 7:00 am) with overtime as needed. The work environment is climate-controlled and involves exposure to forklifts, pedestrian traffic, and moderate noise. Comprehensive training is provided, and ContiTech USA, LLC in Valparaiso, Indiana supports trades through its Registered Apprenticeship Program for emerging Machinists.

Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Continental is not able to pay relocation expenses for this opportunity.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant CNC machining experience.
  • Ability to work 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
  • Intermediate maintenance experience.
  • Ability to perform tasks outside of department.
  • Intermediate experience working with steel and aluminum, hoist operation, measurement capabilities, blueprint reading, machine programming, and basic safety procedures.
  • CMM experience.
  • Advanced maintenance experience.
  • Expert level experience working with steel and aluminum, hoist operation, measurement capabilities, blueprint reading, machine programming, and basic safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operating CNC machining equipment following a production schedule.
  • Accurately labeling parts.
  • Stamping parts as needed.
  • Moving finished parts to the proper areas.
  • Keeping the machine filled with coolant.
  • Ensuring that refractometer readings are within acceptable levels.
  • Monitoring and filling the way oil reservoir.
  • Maintaining a clean workstation adhering to 5S standards.
  • Programming and machining new fixtures.
  • Training new employees.
  • Programming and machining prototype parts and new jobs.
