Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of CNC programming and machining experience.
  • Experience with CNC milling and turning operations.
  • Knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters.
  • CAM experience (Mastercam).
  • Ability to independently set up, troubleshoot, and optimize machining processes.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
  • Mechanical Technician Diploma, Tool & Die Diploma, CNC Machinist Diploma, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Programming, setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC machining equipment to manufacture components for welding fixtures, checking fixtures, prototype tooling, and production support activities.
  • Review CAD models and engineering drawings to develop CNC machining programs.
  • Create, modify, and optimize G-code programs for CNC milling and turning operations.
  • Recommend machining strategies to improve quality, cycle time, and manufacturability.
  • Set up and operate CNC milling and turning equipment.
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workholding methods.
  • Prepare raw materials for machining operations.
  • Inspect machined components using precision measuring equipment.
  • Verify compliance with engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
  • Review CMM reports and modify CNC programs to address dimensional deviations.
  • Perform routine maintenance of CNC equipment.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and major servicing activities.
  • Monitor tooling and material inventory levels and communicate replenishment requirements.
  • Update CNC schedule to ensure accurate reporting of completed work.
  • Communication & coordination with all other departments & vendors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
