This role involves operating and setting up CNC machines to produce parts according to precise specifications. The CNC Machinist will interpret blueprints and work instructions, perform machine setups, monitor operations, and conduct quality inspections. Additionally, the role includes program editing, routine machine maintenance, and effective communication with team members. Requirements

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, process routers, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in setting up CNC machines, including tooling, fixtures, and materials.
  • Skill in making offsets and tool changes during production.
  • Experience monitoring machining operations and making real-time adjustments.
  • Competence in conducting in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Ability to create and/or edit CNC programs.
  • Knowledge of routine machine maintenance.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Understanding of company safety policies and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes) to manufacture parts to precise specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, process routers, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
  • Perform machine setups, including selection and installation of tooling, fixtures, and materials.
  • Make necessary offsets and tool changes during production to maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • Monitor machining operations and make real-time adjustments to ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • Conduct in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Create and/or edit CNC programs to improve cycle times, part quality, and machine efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and report issues requiring additional repair or service.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, programmers, and quality control personnel regarding production issues or improvements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and work instructions to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Assist fellow machinists with troubleshooting and support as needed.
  • Perform various other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support production goals.
