About The Position

Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Production Machinist for a full-time, temp-to-permanent opportunity with a well-established manufacturing client in Youngsville, LA. This position offers $18.00-$22.00/hour DOE, with overtime opportunities and the potential for excellent benefits upon permanent hire. The schedule is full-time, with hours that may vary (approximately 5:00 AM - 4:00 PM). Early morning start times may apply, and overtime and Saturdays may be needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Vocational machining training preferred or 2+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience operating CNC equipment such as: Doosan Hwacheon Okuma Mori Seiki Puma
Experience with G-Code programming required. Conversational programming experience alone is not sufficient.
Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments and perform dimensional inspections.
Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
Experience working with mills and/or lathes required.

Nice To Haves

Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills to machine metallic and non-metallic parts.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, setup requirements, and machining sequences.
Measure, mark, and identify reference points on materials for machining operations.
Select, install, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and accessories.
Calculate and adjust machining parameters including speeds, feeds, coolant flow, depth of cut, and cutting angles.
Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and dimensional accuracy.
Perform in-process and final dimensional inspections to verify parts meet specifications.
Troubleshoot machining issues and communicate with production personnel and supervisors to resolve manufacturing concerns.
Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
