About The Position

Seeking a driven manufacturing professional with exceptional work ethic to fill our current 2nd shift opening. As part of a large corporation, our facility in Ayer is not a "job shop", and our manufacturing needs are not based on short-term contracts. Requirements

Minimum 2 years machinist experience required
Understanding of G and M Codes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches to produce parts
Ability to speak, read, and write English
Demonstrated solid work history
Safe work history

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of OKUMA, FADALS, and ROBODRILLS desired
Conceptual Skills
Process improvement experience and knowledge of Lean practices desired
Functional and Technical Skills
Attention to Detail and Good Judgment

Responsibilities

Work with various types of materials including aluminum, CRS, and 304 SST
Set-ups and break-downs
Work from written procedures, blueprints, and verbal instructions under minimal supervision
Set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using basic mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers
Verify settings by adhering to blueprint specifications and international standards
Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, milling, and cutting (This includes turning, facing, knurling and internal/external threading, and manual esthetics to meet quality expectations.)
Make adjustments to adhere to print specifications
Detect malfunctions and troubleshoot
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Accomplish organizational goals by exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Other duties as assigned
