Requirements

Ability to download, edit, run, and save new programs on various machine controls to meet engineering drawing dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
Machine parts to specifications using boring mills, grinders, lathes and or similar equipment.
Measure and examine completed parts for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
Set up, adjust, and operate all tools and many specialized or custom tools to perform precision machining operations.
Study sample parts, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to manufacture products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
Understanding of machining low carbon, alloy, tool steels and other materials.
Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work and setup.
Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
Ability to work in a team environment to achieve the best results and share best practices and information throughout the department and organization.

Responsibilities

Machine parts to specifications following instructions, drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Set-up and operate various machining tools on CNC and manual machines to produce precision parts efficiently and effectively.
Perform set-ups and machining operations on machines capable of milling, grinding, turning, and boring or similar equipment.
Provide quality assurances of meeting company specifications.
Other duties as may be assigned.
