About The Position

The CNC Machinist I sets up and operates CNC machining centers to produce high-quality machined and milled parts from raw materials. Using mechanical drawings and inspection equipment, the role ensures parts meet specifications and quality standards. The position works under close supervision, with frequent guidance and oversight from supervisors and shop leads. Work is performed on the machine shop floor in a noisy environment, close to moving mechanical parts and heavy machinery. The role involves medium physical work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Most essential functions are performed while standing, and visual acuity is required to operate heavy machinery and inspect small parts. The position may involve access to information, technology, software, technical data, or products subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including ITAR and EAR. Employment may be contingent on satisfying applicable export control requirements as permitted by law. Gables Engineering, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and maintains a drug-free workplace, with testing conducted as permitted by law.
