About The Position

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC machining equipment in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong machining skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality parts that meet engineering specifications. Experience with Mazak, Haas, or Okuma CNC machines is welcome. Candidates must be comfortable performing multiple machine setups per day, working independently, and identifying quality issues before non-conforming parts move forward in production.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably as a lathe machinist.
  • Experience operating CNC machines, preferably Mazak, Haas, or Okuma.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Strong quality mindset and accountability, including the ability to measure and document conforming and non-conforming parts.
  • Ability to identify quality issues, troubleshoot problems, and explain why parts do not meet specifications.
  • Experience performing machine setups, teardown, and changeovers independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple setups throughout the workday.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining production standards.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the work area.
  • Ability to lift or move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to use computers and equipment requiring finger dexterity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read measurements, technical drawings, and production documentation.
  • All interviews will be conducted in person.
  • Candidates must wear long pants and steel-toed shoes or boots in case a facility tour is conducted.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Deburr and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
  • Select and maintain appropriate fixtures, cutting tools, feed rates, cutting speeds, and depths of cut.
  • Monitor machine operations, identify potential issues, and adjust controls or programs as necessary.
  • Identify, document, and communicate quality concerns to prevent non-conforming parts from moving forward in production.
  • Maintain accurate measurements and ensure quality standards are consistently met.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized and perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Follow all applicable company health, safety, and environmental policies.
