About The Position

Fulmer/Perma-Cast (Wabtec’s) is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate a variety of machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, special purpose machines, machining centers, and conventional equipment. The role involves setting up and adjusting machine tools, including presets, and producing high-quality parts to specified dimensions and tolerances. This is a Monday through Friday, on-site position with occasional overtime requirements.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years experiences in CNC operations and conventional machining.
This position requires accuracy and responsibility as many duties must be performed without close supervision.
Training and/or experience using measuring equipment and reading drawings is needed.
High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to perform shop math calculations and read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules and work orders.
Overtime may be required, and employees are expected to make the necessary arrangements to accommodate this need.
Must be able to work any shift, overtime and weekends.

Nice To Haves

Fanuc control experience desired
Journeyman or apprentice papers preferred.

Responsibilities

Produces and assures quality of parts (utilizing necessary measuring gages and equipment) and machine parts on all machines.
Operates CNC lathes and mills and multiple machining centers.
May operate conventional machines as needed.
Reads and studies blueprints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instruction such as feed rate, cutting speed, depth of cut, fixtures and cutting tools to be used.
Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
Programs and/or edits CNC machinery.
Adhere to Wabtec Code of Conduct.
Other duties as assigned.
