About The Position

RBC Bearings Incorporated is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join their team. This role involves operating CNC lathes to meet production and quality standards, ensuring parts are machined to print specifications, and performing adjustments to programs and offsets. The position requires adherence to quality control standards, including in-process inspection and documentation, and modeling safe work behaviors. The company is a leading international manufacturer of highly engineered precision bearings, components, and essential systems for industrial, defense, and aerospace industries, with a history dating back to 1919. They operate 56 facilities globally, including 37 manufacturing sites.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • At least five years of current CNC lathe setup experience.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to set up machines.
  • Ability to edit offsets within programs.
  • Ability to perform tool offset adjustments as required to machine specialty bearings.
  • Ability to perform inspections of dimensions machined, including threads, inner diameters, outer diameters, lengths, widths, and undercuts/grooves.
  • Ability to inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering prints.
  • Ability to make decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must be a quick learner.
  • Ability to give, receive, and follow written and verbal instructions in English and communicate job-related information to others.
  • Must be either a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident ('green card' holder) or have refugee or asylee status due to ITAR and EAR compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ Years experience preferred.
  • Formal CNC training experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes) to meet daily production and quality requirements.
  • Follow company quality control standards, including in-process inspection and documentation.
  • Model safe behaviors.
  • Monitor the machining of metal parts to print specifications.
  • Adjust programs and perform offsets.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines.
  • Inspect dimensions of machined parts, including threads, inner diameters, outer diameters, lengths, widths, and undercuts/grooves.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
