About The Position

The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist will be responsible for performing all the necessary set-up, inspection, tool changes and production required to manufacture airplane cargo systems parts.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; & four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC equipment utilizing Haas, Mazak, Fanuc, Hurco, or similar controls.
  • Knowledge of precision management equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, gauge pins, gauge blocks, etc.)
  • Understanding of blueprint interpretation, tooling, fixturing, and machining processes.
  • Eligible for any required authorization from the US Government due to ITAR/EAR requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Horizontal Machining Centers and Vertical Machines preferred.
  • Experience with CNC milling and turning operations, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machine tools, including lathes, mills, and surface grinders.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Knowledge of GD&T symbols, Datums, and geometric tolerancing.
  • Perform inspections and measurements to ensure that finished parts meet required tolerances and quality standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on machine tools to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for different jobs.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, maintain a clean and orderly workspace, and report any faulty equipment or unusual conditions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to resolve production issues and improve machining processes.
  • All other duties as assigned.
