About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) lathe machines to produce high-quality, precision parts, delivering Perfect Parts On Time. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of machining mechanics, blueprint reading, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). If you take pride in your craftsmanship, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have a passion for precision engineering, we want to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathes in a precision machining environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and editing G-code
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T symbols.
  • Strong shop math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds at times
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Pass the pre-employment drug screen and background check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with conversational programming CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) is a strong plus.
  • Completion of a machinist apprenticeship or technical degree in precision machining is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines (e.g., Haas, Mazak, Mori Seiki) to perform machining operations on materials – mostly stainless steel.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials.
  • Perform necessary tool wear offsets and edits to G-code programs at the machine console.
  • Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, thread gauges) to ensure parts meet tolerance requirements (often within +/- 0.0005 inches).
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery (checking fluid levels, cleaning chips, lubricating) and maintain a clean, organized work area (5S).
  • Work closely with programming, engineering, and quality assurance teams to resolve manufacturing issues and optimize cycle times.
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Benefits

  • Highly subsidized medical and dental plan
  • Paid time off/sick pay
