About The Position

The CNC Machinist / Horizontal Boring Mill Operator sets up, programs, operates, and maintains CNC and manual machining equipment to manufacture, repair, and refurbish precision industrial pump components. The role involves interpreting blueprints and engineering specifications, performing complex machining operations, selecting tooling and machining methods, and completing projects from start to finish with minimal supervision while meeting quality, safety, and production standards. The position works with supervisors, leads, engineering, quality, repair personnel, inspectors, and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality results. It also includes inspecting parts, maintaining equipment and work areas, documenting production and quality activities, and safely handling large components in a manufacturing environment. Sulzer describes a team focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with challenging machining and repair projects involving large industrial pumps and rotating equipment.
