About The Position

DRT Aerospace is seeking a Senior Machinist Programmer to support precision machining operations at a growing aerospace manufacturing facility. The role develops and optimizes CNC programs, determines manufacturing methods, and works directly with machinists and production teams to support quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery. The position is suited to hands-on manufacturing professionals who prefer shop-floor involvement and want to contribute to process improvement and production problem-solving.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
At least 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering, CNC Programming, or Process Engineering experience.
Strong Mastercam programming experience.
Experience supporting CNC mills, lathes, VTLs, or multi-axis machining centers.
Strong blueprint-reading and GD&T knowledge.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

Aerospace manufacturing experience.
Siemens NX CAD/CAM experience.
Fixture and tooling design experience.
First-article and production prove-out experience.
Tool room or advanced machining experience.

Responsibilities

Develop CNC programs and support program optimization using NX.
Determine manufacturing methods, routing sequences, tooling, fixturing, and inspection requirements.
Support first-article prove-outs and production launches.
Create setup sheets, operation sheets, and manufacturing documentation.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues on the shop floor.
Develop manufacturing estimates and job quotes for precision-machined components.
Interpret blueprints and apply GD&T requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
Partner with machinists, supervisors, quality personnel, and production teams.
