The CNC Machinist II is an intermediate-level machinist responsible for independently operating CNC machines, performing basic setups, adjusting and changing tooling without supervision, troubleshooting routine machine and process issues, and supporting the training of new hires. The role requires technical judgment, ownership of assigned equipment, and proactive communication to support safe, efficient, high-quality production. The role also communicates equipment and job status through pass-downs and problem-solving meetings, assists with work organization and continuous improvement, supports new-hire training, and maintains a clean, organized, safe work area. This position is based in a manufacturing machine shop. Work involves exposure to machine noise, metal chips, coolants, oils, fumes, mists, and temperature variations. Required personal protective equipment includes safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, and hearing protection. Physical demands include standing and walking throughout the shift, lifting and moving up to 30 pounds, repetitive hand and wrist motions, and bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, and loading parts into machines.
