About The Position

The CNC Machinist operates CNC mills and lathes to cut and process production parts. The role includes loading machines, setting up and operating mills and lathes, and making basic edits at the machine. The machinist may operate multiple machines when appropriate and performs inspections as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience setting up and operating manual and CNC machines.
• Computer skills to load programs and ability to edit computer programs.
• Advanced knowledge of blueprints and measuring devices.
• Working knowledge of measuring devices, including micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to edit programs at the machine.
• Ability to use various types of hand tools, grinders, and drills.
• Demonstrated ability to operate multiple machines when appropriate.
• Highly skilled in shop math.
• Ability to write notes, instructions, and other written communications.
• Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls; stand for periods of two to three hours; repeat the same movements; bend, twist, or stoop to load parts into a machine; and comfortably lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate all CNC machines.
• Write basic programs at the machines.
• Proof programs and make edits as required.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections of tool and dies as required.
• Operate multiple machines when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned to help the team meet its goals.
