About The Position

The CNC Machinist operates CNC mills and lathes to cut and process production parts. The role includes loading machines, setting up and operating mills and lathes, and writing basic edits at the machine. The position is scheduled for 2nd shift, 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience setting up and operating manual and CNC machines.
• Computer skills to load programs and ability to edit computer programs.
• Advanced knowledge of blueprints and measuring devices.
• Working knowledge of measuring devices, including micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to edit programs at the machine.
• Ability to use hand tools, grinders, and drills.
• Demonstrated ability to operate multiple machines when appropriate.
• Strong shop math skills.
• Ability to write notes, instructions, and other written communications.
• Ability to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls with the hands.
• Ability to stand for periods of two to three hours at a time.
• Ability to repeat the same movements.
• Ability to bend, twist, or stoop to load parts into the machine.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds comfortably.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate all CNC machines.
• Write basic programs at the machines.
• Proof programs and make edits as required.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections of tools and dies as required.
• Operate multiple machines when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned to help the team meet its goals.
