About The Position

Continental develops pioneering technologies and services for sustainable and connected mobility of people and their goods. The ContiTech industry specialist offers customers connected, environment-friendly, safe, and convenient industry and service solutions. This is a 3rd shift position, working 11:00pm - 7:00am, with overtime as needed. The job is within a climate-controlled environment, and you will be exposed to forklifts, pedestrian traffic, and moderate noise. The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided. ContiTech USA, LLC in Valparaiso, Indiana proudly supports the trades with its Registered Apprenticeship Program for emerging Machinists.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant CNC machining experience.
• Ability to work 8-hour shift.
• Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
• Intermediate maintenance experience.
• Ability to perform tasks outside of department.
• Intermediate experience working with steel and aluminum, hoist operation, measurement capabilities, blueprint reading, machine programming, and basic safety procedures.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant CNC machining experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant CNC machining experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant CNC machining experience.
• Advanced maintenance experience.
• Expert level experience working with steel and aluminum, hoist operation, measurement capabilities, blueprint reading, machine programming, and basic safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operating CNC machining equipment following a production schedule.
• Accurately labeling parts.
• Stamping parts as needed.
• Moving finished parts to the proper areas.
• Keeping the machine filled with coolant.
• Ensuring that refractometer readings are within acceptable levels.
• Monitoring and filling the way oil reservoir.
• Maintaining a clean workstation adhering to 5S standards.
• Programming and machining new fixtures.
• Training new employees.
• Programming and machining prototype parts and new jobs.
