CNC Machine Operator 2nd & 3rd Shift
About The Position
This position is for a CNC Machine Operator responsible for the safe and efficient operation of CNC hand and automated load lathes. The operator is expected to achieve high productivity (85% or greater) and quality (98% or greater) through continuous improvement. Key aspects of the role include learning basic machine troubleshooting, understanding SPC practices, verifying gauges, calculating and manually entering offsets, and ensuring product quality meets or exceeds customer expectations and adheres to TS or IATF work procedures. The role also involves promoting continuous improvement, following work instructions and 5S procedures, daily reporting of production and scrap, following training manuals, and adhering to all company policies. The operator is expected to be a team player, fostering good communication and teamwork within the shop.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of 5S and lean practices, preferred
- CNC/Machining experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate CNC hand and automated load lathes.
- Learn and operate machinery to the best of his or her ability with a goal of an overall productivity of 85% or greater and an overall quality goal of 98% or greater with a goal of continuous improvement.
- Learn basic troubleshooting of machine issues.
- Understanding of basic SPC practices.
- Verification of gauges.
- Calculate and manually enter off sets.
- Knowledge of quality standards to ensure product meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Knowledge of TS or IATF work procedures.
- Promote continuous improvement ideas.
- Ability to follow work instructions to meet procedures.
- Follow 5S procedures when operating machines.
- Report daily production and scrap.
- Follow training manual and take notes for future reference.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Operate as a team player, working and communicating well with others while promoting team work throughout the shop.
