About The Position

Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machine Operator for 2nd and 3rd shift positions. This role involves operating and adjusting semi-automatic CNC machining equipment to perform standard and repetitive operations. The operator will learn the setup process, recognize tooling and procedures, and adhere to tight tolerances. They will work from standard coding and operational data to change or mount tools and position workpieces, adjusting machine and fixture stops to maintain finish and tolerance requirements. The position requires working from part drawings and using precision measuring instruments to check and inspect work. Operators will also be responsible for recognizing and reporting machine malfunctions and tooling difficulties, and may assist with setups or program proving. Work procedures and products are subject to check and inspection under supervision. Adherence to safety regulations and maintaining a clean work area are essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, operations
  • Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to follow directions
  • 1+ years of CNC Machining

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating CNC grinding equipment such as; Walter, Ewag, Rollamatic, ANCA, Waida, Vollmer, etc.

Responsibilities
