About The Position

Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machine Operator for 2nd and 3rd shift. This role involves operating and adjusting numerically controlled machines and CNC machining equipment to perform standard and repetitive operations. The operator will follow detailed instructions, work from standard coding and operational data, and use precision measuring instruments to ensure work meets finish and tolerance requirements. Responsibilities include checking work, adjusting machine settings, reporting malfunctions, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. While programs are typically proved, there will be opportunities to learn the setup process. Under supervision, work procedures and products are subject to check and inspection. Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, operations
• Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to follow directions
• 1+ years of CNC Machining

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience operating CNC grinding equipment such as; Walter, Ewag, Rollamatic, ANCA, Waida , Vollmer , etc.

Responsibilities

• Operate and adjust semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machines and/or CNC machining equipment to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations.
• Follow detailed instructions, work from standard coding and operational data to change or mount tools and position work piece.
• Check work at specified points; adjust machine and fixture stops to maintain finish and tolerance requirements.
• Work from part drawings and use required precision measuring instruments to check and inspect work.
• Recognize and report machine malfunctions, tooling difficulties, etc.
• May assist with setups or proving of program.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations.
