About The Position

We are looking for an experienced CNC Lathe and Mill Machinist to join our team on a part-time, flexible basis. This role is ideal for someone who wants to work 2-3 days per week, but we are also open to someone who prefers half-day shifts or another schedule that works for both parties. Our standard shop hours are 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, and we are willing to discuss a schedule within those hours that makes sense for the right person. There may also be opportunities for additional hours from time to time, depending on our workload and your availability. We are an AS9100/ISO-certified machine shop focused on quality, precision, and continuous improvement. You'll work in a clean, climate-controlled facility with well-maintained CNC equipment and a team that values experience and craftsmanship.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Strong CNC lathe setup and operation experience
  • Strong CNC mill setup and operation experience
  • The ability to read blueprints and hold tight tolerances
  • A solid understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining fundamentals
  • G-code editing experience
  • GD&T knowledge
  • Experience making offsets and minor program edits
  • The ability to troubleshoot setups, tooling, and machining problems
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
  • A dependable, professional approach to your work

Nice To Haves

  • CAM experience (Fusion 360, Mastercam, or similar)
  • Experience with Haas, Mazak, Fanuc, or similar controls
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
  • Trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent training
  • Experience troubleshooting difficult machining or setup problems

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce close-tolerance precision components
  • Set up and operate CNC mills as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
  • Make offsets and minor program edits
  • Select appropriate tooling and optimize setups
  • Develop and troubleshoot fixturing and workholding solutions
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and find practical solutions
  • Help maintain quality documentation and follow our AS9100 quality standards
  • Share your machining knowledge and experience with other members of the team
