About The Position

Avalign produces innovative, high-performance, cost-effective medical devices, with employees involved in the design, engineering, and manufacture of technologically advanced products. The CNC Grind Machinist sets up and operates a variety of grinding machines to produce parts according to blueprint specifications and work instructions. The position is based in Warsaw, Indiana, and is assigned to a first-shift schedule.

Requirements

• Ability to read and use calipers, micrometers, a height gauge, and depth micrometers.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work operation sheets to determine appropriate operations.
• Understanding of G & M Codes.
• Strong computer skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for more than eight hours per day.
• Ability to work overtime on a daily or weekly basis.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding equipment and run production according to established procedures and guidelines.
• Set up parts according to blueprints and guidelines.
• Use inspection gauges, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and a comparator, to perform quality checks as outlined by AQL and work instructions.
• Correct dimensional problems and approve setups performed by other operators.
• Maintain accurate counts of completed and scrapped parts, complete production paperwork, and enter required information into the company database.
• Comply with all policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
