Set up and operate CNC machines to perform 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining operations, which may include conventional milling and drilling, fast-hole drilling, and graphite shaping on metal castings, forgings, and bar stock according to specifications and setup instructions. The role applies knowledge of machining methods and requires working with tools and manufacturing work instructions. Operators position and secure workpieces on machine tables or in holding devices, manually or with material-handling equipment; select and install tooling; and load tools into automatic tool changers when required. They check programs at the start of each shift, monitor machine-control displays against process-sheet data, record inspection results in a computer system, and inspect key dimensions using micrometers and precision dial gauges. The role also involves deburring parts, maintaining company-provided tools and measuring instruments, troubleshooting and reporting unusual production issues, and promoting safe machine operation and material handling. The position offers first, second, or third shift schedules, Monday through Friday, with overtime as required, including occasional weekend shifts. The work requires lifting, pushing, or pulling at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation, and wearing required personal protective equipment. Because the role involves technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions, it is open only to U.S. persons, and proof of status is required before employment. Final offers may depend on authorization to access export-controlled information.
